Game Developers Conference 2017 welcomes ‘Games in Italy’ At Italian Games Pavilion

Italian Games Industry Prepares for Its Biggest Presence Ever at Booth #1902

The Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency ICE and AESVI, the Italian Games Trade Body, are excited to announce their upcoming ‘Games in Italy’ exhibit at this year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA. Running from Wednesday, March 1st through Friday, March 3rd at Pav. #1902 in South Hall, the Italian Pavilion will feature offerings from 11 of the leading Italian gaming companies showcasing a wide range of technologies and products from all across country of Italy. The Pavilion has been made available to companies thanks to an economic contribution and a productive co-operation between the Ministry of Economic Development and the Italian Trade Agency ICE, which decided to provide their support to the internationalization of the Italian video games industry

In the last 4 years the collaboration between ICE, the Italian Government’s Agency for overseas promotion and internationalization of Italian companies, and AESVI, the Italian Games Trade Body, has contributed to the growth of the Italian gaming industry in foreign markets. This is thanks to an increased presence at international shows in both the USA and Europe. This is an example of the growing attention the Italian Government is giving to videogames in Italy, as they continues to grow.

With over 120 companies currently operating in all aspects of game development in Italy, the Italian game industry is one of the youngest and most vibrant on the planet and continues to grow its market rapidly. These Italian companies are developing a broad range of offerings, from educational projects, advergames, in work-for-hire, as well as commercial game titles, several of which will be on display at GDC this year. Talented developers and their respective products will be available for demo appointments and interviews during the show.

The best of Italian development will be showcased at the Italian pavilion with a diverse line-up that will cover everything from mobile to VR and traditional console and PC games.
